Head of Sales

Chris Slater joined Fresenius Medical Care UK & Ireland 7 years ago to look after the Chronic Business in the North of the UK, with focus on incentre and home dialysis. Since, Chris has worked his way up the business and has been the Head of Sales for the last 4 years. We spoke to Chris to find out a bit about his role and his time at Fresenius Medical Care.

“In my role, I look after all the sales across the business. This means I have responsibility for several teams, including the contracts, technical, and facilities management. I’m also responsible for my teams executing on commercial strategies and delivering profitable growth for the business. The main focus for my teams is supporting customer in delivering sustainable solutions."

When asked how Fresenius Medical Care has changed in his 7 years here, he explained, “The opportunities presented to me, and my teams, have kept evolving. There have always been new things to encounter, and structures in the organisation, for example when we merged NephroCare and product into one business. This was a big change, but it created new opportunities and the chance to build an exceptionally strong team to overcome any challenge that comes our way. The way that Fresenius Medical Care approaches sales has changed a lot over the last few years. I think it’s really helped the business for the better and created a great working culture, encouraging people to always work their hardest and achieve their best.”

In addition to the opportunities Chris’ work presents, there are also challenges. But he enjoys these challenges. “There’s always a different challenge coming, but it presents an opportunity to evolve, improve and change for the better. Part of this is evolving the team to be the best they can be. We have a strong team across business, who we’ve worked hard to recruit and develop. I find facilitating other people to solve problems and develop really exciting. I get a real buzz out of people coming to work with better solutions and suggestions than I could come up with.”
